Paul Piazza and Son, Inc. was founded in 1892 in New Orleans as a fresh seafood company supplying local restaurants and grocery stores.  The dedication to quality and superior service defined by Paul Piazza, himself, over a century ago remains true today. A family-owned and operated business since 1892, our 4th generation-run company is committed to a level of quality and customer service unmatched in our industry. 

What began as a small operation in New Orleans’ famous French Market now supplies the US market with over 25 million pounds of Premium Quality Wild Caught Gulf Shrimp each year. We work tirelessly to insure that our ever-expanding customer base receives the highest quality Wild Caught Gulf Shrimp available in convenient formats to fit their needs.

This has been evident following the devastation inflicted by Hurricane Katrina in 2005. Instead of merely rebuilding after the storm, we redefined our company and expanded our operations into new geographic areas.  Today, we are financially stronger, more efficient in sourcing and processing and enjoy wider distribution and larger market share than ever before. We have established our position within the industry as the year round source for consistently high quality, greatest-tasting Wild Caught Gulf Shrimp.

Our Wild Caught Gulf Shrimp is premium quality caught by our professional shrimpers on privately held boats contracted to Paul Piazza and Son, Inc. These Wild Caught Gulf Shrimp are caught in the nutrient rich waters of Louisiana, Texas and the Gulf of Mexico. They grow naturally and are harvested in a wide variety of sizes. Wild Caught Gulf Shrimp are an abundant, sustainable, natural resource from a managed fishery that renews itself each year.

Louisiana and Texas are the largest producers of Wild Caught Gulf Shrimp.  Our shrimp are recognized worldwide for their premium quality, superior taste and flavor. Studies consistently show that American consumers prefer Wild Caught Gulf Shrimp.  Consumers are increasingly concerned over food safety issues associated with imported foods including shrimp. They prefer products caught and processed in the USA.  We process over 25 million pounds annually in our New Orleans and Delcambre, Louisiana USDC and SQF Certified facilities.
 
Wild Caught Gulf Shrimp develop their sweet flavor and rich color from a natural diet of nutrient rich marine organisms and from the natural salinity of the brackish in-shore and Gulf of Mexico waters. The flesh is firm because they are free-swimming and grow in a natural environment. Our Premium Quality Wild Caught Gulf Shrimp are a tremendous value. They are a reasonably-priced, low-calorie, low-fat, low-carb, protein rich natural food. They are high in heart-healthy omega-3 fatty acids, vitamin D and vitamin B-12.
