The dedication to quality and reliable service defined by Paul Piazza over a century ago remains true today. A family-owned and operated business since 1892, our 4th generation-run company is dedicated to maintaining and exceeding a level of quality and service unmatched in our industry.

What began as a small operation in New Orleans’s famous French Market has grown to supply the US market with over 25 million pounds of premium quality Wild Caught Gulf Shrimp each year.

We have evolved and innovated over the past 120 years, to ensure that our ever-expanding customer base receives the most flavorful Wild Caught Gulf Shrimp available. And in convenient formats to fit their needs.

This is particularly true following the devastation inflicted by Hurricane Katrina in 2005. Instead of merely rebuilding after the storm, we reinvented our company and expanded our operation. Today we are stronger, more efficient and enjoy wider distribution than ever before. We have solidified our industry position as the source for greatest-tasting, best quality Wild Caught Gulf Shrimp in the country!

Paul Piazza and Son, Inc. was founded in 1892 in New Orleans as a fresh seafood company supplying local restaurants and grocery stores.

Today, over 100 years later, we continue to supply premium quality Wild American Shrimp to American consumers. Wild American Shrimp, America’s favorite seafood, is our only business and remains a “family tradition” as we are still a privately held company owned by the Piazza family and headquartered in New Orleans.

Our Wild American Shrimp is premium quality shrimp caught by our professional shrimpers on privately owned boats with their catch contracted to Paul Piazza and Son, Inc. Our Wild American Shrimp are caught in the nutrient rich marshes and bayous of Southern Louisiana and in the Gulf of Mexico. They grow naturally and are harvested in a wide variety of sizes. Wild American Shrimp are an abundant, fully sustainable, natural resource in Louisiana that renews itself each year.

Louisiana is the largest producer of Wild American Shrimp on the Gulf of Mexico and Louisiana Shrimp are recognized worldwide for their premium quality and superior taste and flavor. Studies have shown that American consumers prefer Wild American Shrimp over farm-raised imports of questionable origin by a wide margin. Consumers are increasingly concerned over food safety issues associated with imported foods including shrimp. They prefer products caught and processed in the USA. Paul Piazza and Son, Inc. uses no chemical additives during the processing of our premium quality headless Wild American Shrimp. We process over 20 million pounds annually in our New Orleans and Delcambre, Louisiana facilities.

Our Wild American Shrimp are harvested at the height of the season and delivered fresh or frozen for year round availability within hours of harvest. Wild American Shrimp develop their sweet flavor and rich color from a natural diet of nutrient rich marine organisms and from the natural salinity of the brackish in-shore and Gulf of Mexico waters. The flesh is firm because they are free-swimming and grow in a natural environment.
